Friday evening started out on an interesting note with the boys spending the night at Brian and Rosie's who have a new pup named Buddy. Buddy is cute and playful but gets a little whiny during the night. The boys love spending time with their older siblings who always treat them to a good time. With the boys away Connie and I got to kick back and watch the big screen with the Parental Controls unlocked. Turns out that we weren't missing much. Now the so-so entertainment included four letter words.
On Saturday Connie went out with a group of women from our Church to walk 4 miles along the strand in Hermosa Beach at 6:30 am. Connie plans to walk in a 3 day Walk-a-thon in November. In fact it will fall on the weekend in which she will celebrate her 50th birthday. Way to go, Connie! After the morning walk she picked up the boys and then headed over to get a good pair of walking shoes. Meanwhile, I spent the late morning "volunteering" for my mandatory shift at the school fund raiser. The fund raiser is called the Snoop Tour because for $25 a ticket buyer is treated to a guided tour through 6 interesting homes in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach. I was the living room tour guide in the Payne House in Hermosa. Very nicely done house! I am amazed at how the woman who organizes the event gets families to basically move out of their homes for the weekend for the fundraiser. I had fun doing it but was glad to head home when it was done.
Temperatures were in the low 90's which is unusual for this time of the year. Saturday evening we went to Mass at 5 so that we could support Nicole and Ron who were being introduced along with many other couples who had completed the New Canaan process for engaged couples. After Mass we headed off to Taco Bell for a quick dinner. Connie and I had tickets to see Miss Saigon so had little time to spare. We did fine though and got the boys home in plenty of time for us to catch the show. The production was fantastic and we truly enjoyed the show. And when we got home both boys were fine and the house was in one piece- a definite win-win.
Sunday we stayed out of the heat until 3 when both boys had a school soccer game to play. So off we went to the school field and watched the boys easily handle their opponents.

After the game we went home and enjoyed the patio. Rather then cook indoors I decided to cook a Costco ready to bake pizza on the barbeque. Note to Leo: don't cook with the grill set at 375 degrees. The toppings were great but the crust was a little too crusty. Hey, we were so hungry that we still ate it. The caesar salad and grilled mushrooms made for tasty side treats. Sorry, didn't think to take a photo. After dinner the highlight for the men was watching the season finale of the Simpsons (which by the way was not very good). Connie zoned into the Country Music Awards.
Looking forward to a great week as the boys count down the number of days left in the school year while Joseph counts down the days remaining in grade school. Also this will be week two for adjusting to having braces. Let's end it with a smile.

Can I be the first?
Welcome to the blogosphere. If you do this much once a week, it will be great.
But, be careful---it's addictive.
I'll put a link to yours....and you can do the same for mine.
Len, thanks for responding to the blog. As you know I read yours on a regular basis. If I figure out how I will place a link to your blog. Since the intended audience is my family and friends, I would prefer that a link be sent out only to people who know me.
That's how I started....just linking to people I know. But you will discover that other folks AKA strangers will stumble in from time to time. Just be sure you set the "comments" so you can pre-screen.
About a year ago, I took a shot at writer Aaron Sorkin. I was shocked how many comments I got sent from people telling me I was a Communist.
