Enjoyable Weekend Closes Out March

With the many folks across the nation recently put out of work and the many with the threat of unemployment hanging precariously overhead, late hours and abbreviated lunch hours don't seem so bad. My project at work required another trip out of state to Michigan recently. The business objectives were met but it did take up half my weekend and the need for extra time continued up until last Saturday morning when we successfully concluded the task. Whew! Time to relax a bit and finally a weekend to kick back a bit. The missus was also wrestling with project deadlines which she too successfully closed. Time to celebrate by getting back to family. Vincent was excited to play in a CYO tournament with his school soccer team. Two games were scheduled both on Saturday and Sunday. The Team got off to a great start on Day 1 by shutting out both opponents. Vincent contributed to the cause by scoring an early goal to help set the tone. With the two hours of dead time between games my bride and I decided to walk to the beach nearby. We didn't get very far but did take in the sights on our way to the pier's end. Couldn't resist saying hello to the puppies. After the second game the boys were picked up by their aunt who organized a trip to local race car track to watch a NASCAR event. While the boys and cousins had pictures of car crashes in their heads, the little lady and I decided to go out for some gourmet popcorn. Yes, we go for the buttery concoction and then stay for the movie. Funny thing just when we arrived. We were there for the matinee whose tickets are a little cheaper than the regular price. After going into the theatre and while Connie was ordering the popcorn combo pack, I just had to scrutinize the ticket receipt and stubs. Total was a bit off and indeed we seemed to have paid a little less than expected. Turns out the laugh was on---me?! Alright I guess I triggered the event. So maybe I have let the hair dye wash out with the result that by having my youthful companion in tow I was obviously the old letch. Anyway, we enjoyed the popcorn and the movie which was entertaining if nothing else. Sunday brought more soccer, church, soccer, and a trip to a sushi place in Pasedena- home of the Rose Bowl. Vincent, and Joseph, both love non-raw variations of sushi. After Connie promised to take the boys to a special sushi restaurant if either made the Honor Roll, Vincent made the grades. He asked to go to A-Floating Sushi on Colorado Blvd. Here is a collage highlighting the visit. The sushi was great but the novel presentation was the show.

Leo, seems that you have a lot of activities. Its nice to see a family do family things. As for the movie receipt, what is considered senior? Some places like Denny's think 50. If the movie is 65 than theirs a problem. Keep dying. Gino
