The last weekend in june

Today is Wednesday, July 2 and I am finally getting around to describe the happenings from last weekend. But today's Balog I am using speech recognition software to transcriber my block. Did that last sentence make a lot of sense? Excuse some of the errors coming up. Last weekend was one of the preparatory weekends in anticipation of the call and runs a wedding in August. In the last sentence call means Nicole and runs means Rhonda I mean wrong on I mean RO and a and then I mean Ron. Finally exclamation. Any ways. Friday night started out as a cop pulls night where we enjoyed the comedy at the comedy and magic club. Don Irrera was the headliner and he actually put on a very good show.





Before Irrera the host comic who openned the show was very entertaining. He was followed by a comedian from Minnesota who was a contestant on last comic standing. Common theme with that of the holes comic and that miss know the guy, a lot of relationship jokes that always seemed to get back to oral sex. The two comics were then followed by a mime who was supposed to be a magician but put on a good show nonetheless.

The next day on Saturday the girls took off for Temecula where a number of wineries were waiting. The girls stayed overnight and returned Sunday afternoon for the weekend was a bachelorette party.



So what did the boys and I do? We went shopping! In the morning I did some work for work and home but in the afternoon we headed off to the guitar center. Joseph was shopping for some drum instruments. After getting some pricing information and trying out a few of toys there we took off for Sam ash music. Sam ash provided a buying opportunity for a crash symbol. We end up going back to the guitar center to pick up a drum stand. In between the music store visits was a trip to the mall where Vincent took the opportunity to purchase a trendy cap.

I forgot to mention that before we went to the mall joseph's friends came over for an hour jam session. They were very good and I enjoyed listening to them plays some eighties music. After returning from the mall we did something to affect my memory because I do not remember what we did. We did kill some time in anticipation of watching George carlin's appearance on the first Saturday night live broadcast. We made it to about 45 minutes into the show. The show had some funny moments and some not so funny. Unfortunately we were overcome by a major attack of the zzz'z and did not finish watching the entire broadcast.

Mid-saturday a surprise call came in from NY. Baby brother was celebrating his birthday and had a bbq under way. It started raining while we were talking which reminded me that Len was at Shea watching the Yanks-Mets game. As baby brother scurried to dry ground brother number two engaged me in conversation. How I wished that we could have been there with them even in the downpour- especially in the downpour.

Sunday morning the boys were invited to a Danny's birthday celebration by spending the day at one of the water slide parks- Hurricane Harbor. With the missus and boys gone there was no excuse to not prep the guest room for our first summer visitor. Some order and space was cleared but somehow I ended up surfing the net to visit my childhood neighborhood via Google Maps. Incredible trip.

The weekend closed with everyone getting back home safely and thoughts turning to the upcoming short week. The 4th falls on Friday afterwhich my brother will arrive via LAX on the 5th. Prayers and thoughts to my godson and nephew who had out patient surgery planned for Monday. All is well there.
